It started in the 14000 block of the Eastex Freeway when a deputy noticed the Corvette failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic when pulling out of a driveway. The deputy tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspect started evading, running multiple stop signs and red lights and ultimately leading deputies on a 16 miles long pursuit.
The Corvette ultimately suffered engine damage, which caused it to fail, ending the pursuit in the 3100 block of the South Freeway.
The 42-year-old man driving the Corvette was taken into custody. Deputies later determined the Corvette had been stolen.
Nobody was hurt and no other vehicles were damaged in the pursuit.
