Several officers, 1 civilian injured after suspected intoxicated driver strikes patrol vehicle
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – Several officers and a civilian were injured Saturday morning after a suspected intoxicated driver struck a patrol vehicle, according to the Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable, Montgomery County, TX on Saturday, February 27, 2021The citizen constable deputies had pulled over prior to the crash sustained serious injuries in the incident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The Tesla driver was not injured. There was no indication the Tesla driver attempted to slow down before striking the patrol vehicle, said Montgomery County Pct. Car splits in deadly crash in NW Houston; witness says vehicles involved were street racing
HOUSTON – A car split in half in a deadly accident in northwest Houston Wednesday night, police said. Police said a man died in the accident and they are investigating whether he was street racing at the time. According to officers, a witness told them a Honda Hatchback was racing another vehicle when it veered off the road and ran into a tree. The victim, a man in his mid-20s, was thrown from the car and died at the scene. Police said they are searching for surveillance video to see if they can get more information on the other vehicle the witness reported seeing.

VIDEO: Vehicles burst into flames after 2-vehicle crash on Highway 6
HOUSTON – A two-vehicle crash ended in flames on Highway 6 past the reservoir south of Clay Road, according to Harris County Constable Precinct 5. Officials said the collision was between a white SUV and a white Nissan at 3998 North Highway 6. The call was reported at 12:30 p.m.Officials said no one was injured in the crash.

Houston Metro police sergeant killed in single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County
HOUSTON – A Houston METRO Police Department sergeant was killed Sunday early morning in a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. at Brazos Drive and Riverwalk Drive in the Riverwalk subdivision, officials said. MONTGOMERY COUNTY- @TxDPSSoutheast Troopers responded to a one-vehicle fatality crash at Riverwalk/Brazos. They believe he struck a tree at a high rate of speed while taking the car out for a spin. Porter Fire and Montgomery County Hospital District responded along with DPS, Montgomery County Sherriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables.

Firefighter, police officer die in Saturday morning crash, 1 firefighter in critical condition
(KCBD) – A Lubbock firefighter and police officer are dead and one firefighter remains in critical condition after they were struck by a vehicle while working a wreck on Saturday morning. The officer and firefighter who died have been identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Reyna with LPD and the firefighter was 39-year-old Lt. and Paramedic Eric Hill. The firefighter who is in critical condition has been identified as 30-year-old Matt Dawson. While working the crash, a second vehicle traveling southbound on I-27 crossed over into the median. Both departments will have counselors available for the other first responders on the scene and for those who knew the officer and firefighter.

Houston child killed, grandmother injured in bus crash in Mexico
SAN LUIS POTOSI, MEXICO – A child, identified as Albert Castanon, 10, is among the two people who reportedly died in a bus crash Saturday near San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the family said. Alvardo claims Castanon’s mother traveled to San Luis Potosi to identify her son’s body and to began preparing funeral arrangements. According to Mexican media outlets, two people were killed, and at least ten people were injured when a bus traveling from Houston to Mexico crashed at about 9 a.m. due to inclement weather. The bus departed Houston Friday from the Transportes Chavez bus station at 606 Dell Court in north Houston. "It was really bad.”The injured passengers were moved to hospitals with the help of Mexico’s national guard, according to the Consulate General of Mexico.

DPS: San Jacinto County deputy killed in car crash was not wearing seat belt
COLDSPRING – San Jacinto County officials and deputies are mourning the loss of deputy Bryan Pfluger Sunday morning after he was killed in a car crash Saturday night. State troopers said Pfluger hit another patrol vehicle while responding to a burglary call. During the crash, the deputy was thrown from his vehicle, according to DPS. Pfluger was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to DPS. The deputy in the other patrol car did not suffer visible injuries in the crash but was transported to an area hospital as a precaution, according to DPS.

Off-duty Houston officer killed in wrong-way crash on I-10 near Sealy
HOUSTON – A crash that shut down Interstate 10 West near Sealy claimed the life of a Houston police officer, who officials say was driving the wrong way on the highway when she slammed into a big rig. Gizele Solorio worked with the Houston Police Department for about 2.5 years and graduated from the cadet class 230 as the class president, according to HPD Commander Chandra Hatcher. Solorio was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-10 when she was in a head-on collision with the 18-wheeler. Hatcher described Solorio as an officer who stood out. “Officer Solorio was a bright and shining star,” Hatcher said.
