Person hit by car in southwest Houston, police investigating

HOUSTON – A search is underway for a driver accused of hitting a pedestrian Friday morning.

Details are limited, as it’s an active scene but we’re told it happened around 6:48 a.m. on Kirby and the Southwest Freeway.

Preliminary information from police is the driver of a black SUV hit an unidentified pedestrian and was rushed to Memorial Hermann in unknown condition. It’s unclear if the driver fled or remained at the scene.

No additional information was shared but an investigation remains underway.
