Man kills estranged wife’s boyfriend, himself in apparent murder-suicide, police say
CONROE, Texas – An investigation is underway after two men were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide, according to Conroe Police Department. Police said officers found the frantic woman who called them and the two men dead inside the home with gunshot wounds. Police said officers learned that one of the men was the woman’s soon-to-be-ex-husband and the other was the woman’s current 29-year-old boyfriend. The woman told investigators that she and her 33-year-old husband were separated in November and no longer living together with plans to divorce, police said. The woman’s boyfriend came to the home when it was empty but shortly after, the husband entered the home and shot the boyfriend with a handgun and turned it on himself, police said.

Conroe woman charged after giving birth in toilet, police say
CONROE, Texas – A woman was charged after giving birth in a toilet in September, according to Conroe Police Department. Denette Elizabeth Williams, 33, has been arrested and charged with endangering a child. Police said Williams gave birth to a baby girl in the bathroom of her mother’s home. The child’s father told investigators that he heard Williams screaming from another room, rushed to help her and saw the newborn in the toilet, police said. He told investigators that he called 911 and performed CPR on the baby, police said.

Crash involving Montgomery County deputy kills woman in Conroe, police say
CONROE, Texas – Conroe police are investigating after a deadly crash involving a Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy Monday. Investigators said a deputy called dispatch around 5:43 a.m. and said he was involved in a fleet crash on 45 southbound between South Loop 336 and Crighton. According to authorities, one person was fatally struck during the accident. Conroe police said the 26-year-old woman, who was wearing dark-colored clothing when she was hit, was walking in the middle of the lane when a truck struck her. Police had been searching for a woman matching the victim’s description.

Conroe Mayor Toby Powell dies after ‘valiant fight against cancer,’ city says
HOUSTON – Mayor Toby Powell died Saturday at his home surrounded by his family, the city of Conroe announced. “Mayor Powell has fought a valiant fight against cancer for the past several years and even through his personal pain he has led this City with integrity, spirit, determination,” the city wrote in a Facebook tribute. “Mayor Powell once said he would fight for the City of Conroe, that he loved so much until his dying breath.”“Rest in Peace Mayor Toby — job on earth well done. Please pray for the City and the Mayor’s family during this difficult time.”The Conroe Police Department also extended condolences to the Powell family. “Rest in peace Honorable Mayor of the City of Conroe, Toby Powell,” the department wrote on Facebook.

Conroe woman accused of choking 1-year-old baby at her unlicensed daycare, police say
CONROE, Texas A Conroe woman is accused of choking a 1-year-old baby who was under her care at her unlicensed daycare facility, according to the Conroe Police Department. On Feb. 28, a woman picked up her 5-year-old sister and 1-year-old daughter from Andrea Sanchezs daycare, police said. At the time, the 5-year-old told the woman that Sanchez had choked her baby while other children were trying to sleep, police said. Conroe police and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services launched a special investigation.
