Responding officers found the 14-year-old suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was provided medical aid before being transported to a Montgomery County hospital in stable condition.
Officers identified the apartment where the teen had been shot and learned that two juvenile boys, ages 14 and 15, were at the location at the time of the shooting but fled before police arrived.
Conroe police detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene to investigate.
A few hours later, both juvenile suspects were taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
Because the victim and suspects are juveniles, their names will not be released.
