Police officer injured in Trinity County tornado has died, Conroe PD announced

The police officer who was injured when a tornado hit his home in Trinity County has died, Conroe Police Department announced.

Conroe Police Lt. Jimmy Waller and his wife Adela were both injured after an EF-1 tornado tore through their home on Sunday night. Adela was thrown from their trailer while Jimmy was pinned underneath its frame.

The couple was found by a neighbor, Brant Pee, who rescued Jimmy from underneath the wreckage.

The Conroe Police Department posted the tragic update on Facebook.

“After multiple surgeries, physicians determined that his injuries were too great to sustain life. His family members were able to spend time with him prior to his passing,” the post read.

Lt. Waller was a 22-year veteran with the Conroe PD.
