Mattress Firm manager finds employee's body in Houston store

HOUSTON – The manager of a Mattress Firm found the body of an employee Saturday in the back of the store in northwest Houston, according to police.

The discovery was reported about 7 p.m. at the store in The Commons shopping center at 7592 West FM 1960, near Tomball Parkway.

Houston police said the 28-year-old woman, identified by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office as Allie Barrow, was found shot to death in an office at the back of the store.

Officials said Monday they believe Saturday's shooting may be related to a shooting Monday at a mattress store in north Houston and a woman's murder in Cypress last Friday.

Houston police and Harris County authorities are searching for a man linked to the three fatal shootings.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Jose Gilberto Rodriguez, 46, a registered sex offender, is considered a serial killer and is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Gonzalez is described as being Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 135 pounds and thin. Deputies said he has short black hair with tattoos on both forearms and his neck.

Police also said they are looking for a gray 2017 Nissan Sentra with license plate KPD2805 that he was last seen driving.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.

Steve Stagner, CEO of Mattress Firm, issued the following statement about the case:
