VYPE is excited to enter year three with Goose Creek CISD!

EVERY TIME JAMAAL HAYMON WALKED INTO THE LOCKER ROOM AFTER A WIN THIS SEASON, IT WAS A NEW EXPERIENCE.

BEFORE THE FIRST SNAP OF THE 2020 SEASON, BAYTOWN LEE COACH TIM FINN CHALLENGED HIS TEAM. HE WANTED THEM TO BE ABLE TO ADD ANOTHER PLAYOFF SEASON TO THEIR WALL INSIDE THE FIELDHOUSE.

THIS VOLLEYBALL SEASON SAW THE GCCISD SCHOOLS MOVE BACK TOGETHER IN THE SAME DISTRICT, COMPETING IN 22-5A.

AFTER HAVING THEIR SEASON TAKEN AWAY IN 2020 DUE TO COVID-19, THE GOOSE CREEK CISD GOLFERS ARE READY TO HIT THE LINKS.

Goose Creek Memorial has made program history already, with a chance to make even more. The Patriots are into the playoffs for only the third time in program history, thanks to a 21-3 overall record and going 14-2 in distirct play. The 14 district wins, also the most in program history. VYPE caught up with Bradford recently to get to know the Goose Creek Memorial standout a little bit better. VYPE: How is the recruiting process going?

Enjoy the highlights between district rivals Goose Creek Memorial and La Porte! The game went back and in the end Goose Creek Memorial defeats La Porte 66-61. Goose Creek Memorial moves to 20-3 on the season and ranked #24 in the state of Texas.

Goose Creek Memorial men's basketball is rolling this season, sitting currently in third in district play at 7-2 with just a few weeks to go in the regular season. VYPE recently caught up with the junior to learn more about him. VYPE: Favorite Nickname and how did you get it? Coleman: My favorite nickname is 2Cole (too cold) and I got it one day in the car when I and my family was deciding what to put on my middle school AAU team warmup shirt. Coleman: To be the best at what you do you have to put in countless hours of work and you have to push past adversity.

Goose Creek Memorial is still one of the younger programs in the district. The district they get thrust into include GCCISD counterparts Baytown Sterling and Lee but also add in Beaumont United, Friendswood, La Porte, Galveston Ball and Port Arthur Memorial. "It's a good district," Carter said. If Goose Creek Memorial can do that, the Patriots could march into the playoffs for the first time since 2013, seeking the program's first ever playoff victory.
