Manโs body found in woods near Dayton
HUFFMAN, Texas โ A manโs body was found Tuesday in woods near Dayton. The discovery was reported about 5:50 p.m. According to a tweet from the Harris County Sheriffโs Office, people riding ATVs in the area discovered the body. Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators were called to the scene, deputies said. Authorities originally reported that the body was found near Huffman, but later revised the location to near Dayton.

DAYTON, Texas โ A fisherman found the body of a missing man Sunday near the Trinity River in Liberty County, deputies said. The manโs body was found not far from where crews were searching for him. Heathco was last seen walking on FM 1409 in Liberty County on Jan. 12, according to a spokesman for Texas Equusearch. Officials said they believe Heathco may have been injured in a vehicle crash prior to his disappearance.

In a Facebook post, Coledo Cleo Wheeler said she and her husband came home from work when they noticed a brand new basketball hoop and a new basketball with an instruction manual. Come to find out a random act of kindness had happened in our home,โ she wrote on her Facebook post. He knew exactly who Aubrey was," Wheeler wrote, โHe started crying." In an update, she wrote that she came home to sandbags to place on the base of the basketball hoop.

Bedridden man killed in house fire in Dayton, firefighters say
DAYTON, Texas โ A bedridden man has died after being trapped in his home during a fire in Dayton Friday, firefighters said. Dayton firefighters said they responded to reports of a residence on fire on Ford and Prater at around 3 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, the wood-frame house was engulfed in flames, firefighters said. Firefighters said the owner of the home, who has been identified as Baron Payne, was trapped inside and died in the blaze. Prior to the arrival of fire officials, Payneโs sister, who lives just a few houses down, attempted to save Payne, firefighters said.
Police identify 4 men killed in head-on collision on Highway 146 in Dayton
DAYTON, Texas โ Four people were killed in a head-on collision Monday morning along Highway 146 in Liberty County, officials said. Dayton police said a man identified as Blaine Springer, 25, was driving southbound in a Chevrolet Silverado and veered out of his lane and hit a Ford F-250 head-on. Police identified the men in the Ford as Ricardo Martinez, 41, Alfredo Cueller Jr, 40 and 27-year old David Cortes. Alfredo Cuellar (L) was killed along with three other in a crash in Dayton on Feb. 17, 2020. Martinezโs family members told KPRC 2 that Martinez and Cortes were distant relatives and on their way to work when they were killed.
