HOUSTON – A woman was shot and the person who pulled the trigger is believed to be her estranged husband after an argument in northwest Houston Tuesday.
Houston Police said it happened in the 6400 block of Lautrec Drive around 7:45 p.m.

They arrived at the scene to find the woman with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a trauma center where she is expected to survive.
Police said they believe the woman was shot by her estranged husband after an argument broke out between the two. The man pulled out a gun and shot her before fleeing in a pickup truck.
Police said the argument may have stemmed from some sort of custody issue and a teenage boy was believed to be in the home at the time of the shooting.
Officers are currently searching the area for the suspect.
