According to police, an apparent altercation occurred inside the nightclub. Witnesses told officers a DJ stopped playing music when the altercation was happening, and that was when several people were escorted out of the building.

About 10 minutes later, gunshots were heard. That is when police said three victims--a customer, a nightclub employee, and a security guard--were found with gunshot wounds outside the nightclub parking lot.

The customer was pronounced dead at the scene, while the employee and the security guard were transported to area hospitals, according to police.

Police are unsure if the suspect was a part of the group that was escorted out.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
