87 layoffs planned for Joe's Crab Shack employees

HOUSTON – Job cuts are on the way for a number of employees of Joe's Crab Shack.

Ignite, the Houston-based operator of Joe's Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern and Tap, is preparing to lay off 87 people at the corporate office as they file for chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Landry's has offered $55 million for Ignite, but Ignite has not responded -- making Ignite's future unclear.

The layoffs could happen as soon as Aug. 22.
