Deputies said the 72-year-old man arrived at the scene after calling 911 and didn’t know deputies had already arrived. The owner mistook the deputy for the burglar and fired at the deputy, authorities said. Authorities said the deputy returned fired, hitting the man in the shoulder. Investigators said the business owner was wearing the same type of clothing as the burglar seen on camera.

Police said that a 1-year-old who was in the back seat of the vehicle at the gas pump was hit by gunfire. Crump said Legend was hit in the head by a bullet and not grazed as police have described.
Deputy shoots suspect while serving search warrant in Galveston, authorities say
GALVESTON, Texas – A deputy shot a suspect while serving a narcotics search warrant Thursday in Galveston, authorities said. The deputy shot the suspect, the Galveston Sheriff’s Office said, when the suspect brandished a weapon. The shooting happened on 51st and S1/2 in Galveston at about 9:30 Thursday morning“Multiple commands were given to him, he refused to put the gun down and our officers fired several rounds,” said Captain Dennis Macki of the Galveston County Sheriff’s office. The suspect who was shot was transported to UTMB with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The investigation is being turned over to Texas Rangers and the Galveston County District Attorney, the sheriff’s office said.

SPRING, Texas – One of the two people being sought Wednesday after an officer-involved shooting near Spring has been taken into custody. Burse said that as the identification was being run, Goodson jumped back in the truck and began driving away while Orange fled on foot. Orange was later found and taken into custody, officials said. AdAuthorities said both Goodson and Orange have multiple warrants issued for their arrest. The Texas Rangers, the state’s investigative agency, is taking over the investigation of the shooting.

Suspect accused of shooting Harris County deputy was free on multiple bonds
HOUSTON – The man accused of shooting a Harris County deputy in the back Tuesday night was free from jail on multiple bonds at the time of the shooting, according to court records. Harris County Deputy Association President David Cuervas said that problem of violent career criminals who re-offend after being granted multiple felony bonds has become epidemic in Harris County. “These rogue judges have made Harris County a sanctuary county for felons and criminals,” Cuervas said. “They absolutely don’t give a damn about anyone or any citizen in Harris County.”It’s a problem so acute, the legislature is considering action. State Sen. Paul Bettencourt is crafting a bill to stop judges from stacking multiple felony bonds for violent offenders who are continually arrested and released.

Man involved in fatal north Houston shooting shot by officer responding to scene, police say
HOUSTON – A Houston police officer shot a gun-wielding man Monday after the man shot and killed one person and brandished a weapon at a store, police said. The shooting was reported about 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of North Main and East 43rd streets. Finner said that an officer responded to the scene and the man began shooting at the officer. Finner said investigators are trying to determine if the man knew the person who was shot and killed. Finner said the officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative duties, which is standard practice.
Armed carjacking suspect shot by Houston police officer charged, police say
HOUSTON – Charges have been filed against an armed robbery suspect who fired shots at Houston police officers and was then shot by one of the officers Monday, authorities said. Investigators said the HPD officer who shot the suspect, E. Camacho, was not injured during the incident. Officer Camacho was sworn in as an HPD officer in July 2018 and is assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division, police said. Police said Officer Camancho took out her weapon and struck the suspect, causing him to drop his weapon and fall to the ground. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the suspect to the hospital in serious, but stable condition, police said.
