It happened around 2:15 a.m. when League City officials say a man, later identified as Codey Colvin of Sugar Land, shot a Clear Lake Shores police officer in the arm during a chase. The unidentified officer asked for backup and the League City PD assisted after Colvin took off.

The chase then entered Houston city limits on the Gulf Freeway, where HPD was notified and assisted. The chase ended just before 3 a.m. at an apartment complex on Watonga Blvd. where at that point, Colvin tried to run away because the tire burst in his getaway car but was quickly captured and taken into custody without incident.

Several agencies were involved in this chase but Colvin has been booked in Galveston County jail, where he is currently facing charges for evading arrest.

It’s unclear what condition the Clear Lake Shores PD officer was in, at last check, but we’re told was rushed to a hospital, and League City police are praying for their speedy recovery.
