Over 20 baby egrets and blue herons were released back into the wild after an investigation was launched where dozens of birds were found injured or dead at a northwest Harris County subdivision.

An investigation has been launched after dozens of migratory birds were discovered injured or dead in an area being used as a breeding ground by the protected species. According to a news release, Texas Parks and Wildlife and The Wildlife Center of Texas rescuers found โscores of injured and/or orphaned juvenile great blue herons and great egrets.โ Injuries included broken wings, mangled legs, and internal injuries suffered after their nesting area had been disrupted.

The best buddies from Louisiana were seperated when they were rescued after Hurricane Laura. Now, theyโre finally back together. Whisper, a hearing-impaired Shepard mix, was one of several dogs and cats brought to the Houston SPCA after Laura. When a team from the SPCA looked at the poochโs paperwork, they saw she was already bonded to another dog named Sassy. Unfortunately, Sassy had been taken to a rescue in Fort Worth, so the Houston SPCA got to work to reunite the pair.
