SPCA rescues 10 emaciated dogs, 9 puppies and a kitten from home in north Houston

Houston SPCA Animal Cruelty Investigations team and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 conducted an emergency rescue for 10 emaciated dogs, nine puppies and a kitten yesterday in north Houston (Houston SPCA)

HOUSTON – Houston SPCA and Harris County Constable Precinct 1 rescued 20 animals from a property located in north Houston on Monday.

Ten emaciated dogs, nine puppies and a kitten were rescued from the 3000 block of Havner Lane.

According to the Houston SPCA, several of the emaciated dogs were tethered by chains in the front of the property while the puppies and kitten were roaming free. All of the animals were reportedly lacking food, water and veterinary care.

All 20 animals were removed from the property and are now receiving medical treatment from Houston SPCA veterinary staff.

The owner could face up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine for animal cruelty.
