DNA links Conroe man executed by lethal injection in 2002 to cold case murder of 12-year-old 43 years ago, officials say
DNA evidence has solved the cold case of a 12-year-old Montgomery County girl killed more than 40 years ago. The murderer will not have the opportunity to stand before any judge or jury, however, because he has already been put to death for another murder, according to the Montgomery County Sheriffโs Office.

DNA helps crack Florida cold case
(WBBH/NBC News) โ Detectives in Punta Gorda, Florida say theyโve cracked a 30-year-old homicide case has using DNA evidence. Members of the Charlotte County Cold Case Unit held a press conference Monday about the murder of Sharon Gill, a woman who was killed in her home on March 21, 1990. Roland โRollieโ Thomas Davis, 68, has been linked to the murder after detectives confirmed DNA evidence connected him to the crime. Davis is currently on death row in Ohio for the stabbing death of an 86-year-old woman. As for a motive, detectives believe Davis is โprobably just a psychopath,โ and say he could be connected to other murders both in Florida and other states.
