James Harden to stay with Rockets 4 more years

HOUSTON – Houston Rockets superstar James Harden will be extending his contract another four years with the team, the player announced Saturday afternoon at a press conference.

"(Houston) is like a home for me," Harden said. "Every year we try to build, and find other ways to get better. That's my focus and that's my priority, too."

The 4-year contract extension comes with $118,000.

He said he wanted to lock in four more years in order to focus on his legacy, and doing things that haven't been done before in Houston.

Harden's announcement and appearance at the conference came as a surprise.

"We're all focused on winning a championship," General Manager Daryl Morey said.

Harden said the Rockets are being overlooked, which has given the team an underdog mindset.
