THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A woman was found dead inside an apartment Monday after a fire in The Woodlands.
Investigators said a cooking accident was to blame for the death a 78-year-old woman at the Providence Place Senior Living on Kuykendahl Court.

Residents in the community reported smelling smoke and fire alarms going off just before 2:30 a.m.
Firefighters found a smoke-filled kitchen from a fire, which had already been put out, and woman's body in the living room.
Montgomery County fire investigators said they believe the woman was overcome by smoke.
An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
