New local beer causes big buzz

HOUSTON – There is a big buzz over a new beer from Houston's Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

Divine Reserve No. 12 (DR12) was released Tuesday.

The Spec's liquor store in Midtown sold out within an hour. Customers were able to buy three 22-ounce bottles, which was the allotment per customer since the demand is so big for this brew that is literally one of a kind.

"It's a one-batch-and-done kind of beer. It changes each time, so Divine Reserve is totally different than 8 from 10 from now 12. We just make it one time and the it's gone forever," said Lenni Ambrose, marketing director for Saint Arnold Brewing Company.

DR12 was inspired by David Rogers' winning entry in the 2011 Big Batch Brew Bash.

The first Divine Reserve No. 1 was released in 2005.
