Rockets shooting for 15th straight win Wednesday night

HOUSTON – It's a new night for basketball downtown at Toyota Center as the Rockets, the hottest team in the NBA go for a 15th consecutive win.

On Wednesday, the Rockets homestand continues as they welcome the Los Angeles Lakers, and it's a game the Rockets should handle with ease.

The Rockets are 25-4 as they get set to play their 30th game.

Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni spoke before the game at Toyota Center about staying focused during this winning streak both on offense and especially on the defensive side.

"These guys understand the importance of every game," said D'Antoni. "Hot streaks and cold streaks ... they do not change their outlook on things and on how you play. These guys are really good."

After Wednesday's game against the Lakers, the homestand continues as the Rockets host the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night.

After that game, the Rockets will hit the road. Their first big test comes Christmas night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

D'Antoni likes the team's approach through 29 games.

"We just to keep finding ways to win and have different guys step up. We need to keep working defensively and win games with defense," D'Antoni said.
