Restaurant Report Card: Roaches, slime, rodents found in local eateries

HOUSTON – Rodents -- they’re not the kind of guests you ever want to see at a restaurant, not only for what they are, but for what they leave behind.

We’re talking about rodent droppings.

And rodent droppings are what Houston health inspectors found at Cici’s Pizza at 11803 Wilcrest Drive.

Inspectors discovered rodent waste on the floor behind the ice machine and behind a storage rack.

Up next, it’s The Thai Spice Buffet on Voss Road, where health inspectors found four to five cockroaches inside the restaurant at the time of inspection.

The order given -- that pest control must be provided immediately.

And speaking of roaches, inspectors found them at Bullrito’s near the University of Houston, on Calhoun.

The eatery was written up after inspectors found live and dead roaches in the kitchen.

And if you thought we would end this Restaurant Report Card without your weekly dose of slime, forget about it.

At the well-known Dimassi’s Mediterranean Buffet on Tomball Parkway, inspectors discovered brown slime in the ice machine and ordered all 1,200 pounds of ice to be condemned.

This week, we congratulate the hard-working crew at China Max on Westheimer Road.

They earn our coveted A-Plus Award for knocking out a perfect restaurant inspection.
