Have you seen Michaela? Mother says her daughter vanished outside her apartment, leaving cell phone behind

HOUSTON – One moment, Michaela Green was outside her apartment door, and the next she was gone.

Her mother, Monique Tyler says her daughter vanished earlier this month and she’s beginning to fear the worst.

She says with her daughter’s phone being found outside their apartment door, she’s convinced she didn’t leave on her own.

“It’s just the not knowing man, and it’s draining,” Tyler said.

Jan 5 is the last time Tyler says she spoke to her only daughter.

“You know, it’s sex trafficking out here. This is a huge city,” she said.

Tyler says the last time she heard from her daughter they were on the phone.

She says Michaela told her she was trying to get back into their apartment at the Southway Manor Apartments complex on Southway Drive in southeast Houston after accidentally being locked out by her brother.

“I called him back and I said ‘Hey you locked your sister outside’ and he was like ‘Mama she ain’t got her key?’ I was like ‘No she doesn’t have her key, go to the door and let her in,’” Tyler said.

But Tyler says by the time her son got to the door there was no sign of Michaela.

“He said he looked out and did like this and said ‘Michaela’ and called her name and he noticed her phone was sitting right there,” she said.

Tyler says when she got home from the nail salon a few hours later, Michaela’s phone was still outside.

“She never walked in the door or picked up the phone,” she said.

There is a ring camera outside the home but Tyler says it didn’t record and as of right now there are no leads.

Michaela Green is 4 foot 10, 125 pounds, and has multiple ear piercings and a nose ring.

Anyone who knows of her whereabouts is asked to call the Houston Police Missing Persons Unit at 832-394-1840.
