Police said on June 14, Thomas was found dead inside his vehicle in the rear parking lot of a club at 3352 Old Spanish Trail at around 9 a.m. Investigators believed foul play was involved.

An autopsy, conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, ruled Thomas’ death a homicide caused by strangulation.

Authorities said further investigation determined Franklin as a suspect in the case. On Monday, officers with the HPD Crime Reduction Unit arrested Franklin without incident.

Franklin was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
