HOUSTON – A SWAT standoff is over after a barricaded man kills himself in a northwest Houston home, police said.

Police said when the woman answered the door, officers heard a gunshot from upstairs and immediately pulled back to a position where they were covered.

Officers called out to the man, who had a felony arrest warrant, police said. The woman was cooperative and was taken into custody, police said.

During the standoff, officers didn't know if the man was shooting at them or not, police said.

After the SWAT team arrived at the scene, they sent in a robot, which found the man dead upstairs with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The man's identity has not been released.
