The storms may have passed but we are certainly not out of the woods of chaos just yet.

Many people in the Houston area are now into their fourth day without electricity.

Initially, when the storms hit on Thursday, the Greater Houston area saw more than 900,000 power outages at homes and businesses.

In a normal situation, power would be restored much faster. However, due to about 10 power/transmission towers being destroyed, 7 of them in Houston, getting power fully restored in taking longer.

No power means a lot of people no longer have the luxury of air conditioning systems (despite the overwhelming heat pounding our area) nor the ability to quickly charge devices such as cell phones or laptops.

On Monday, many people were out and about looking for ways to stay connected.

And some businesses stepped up.

Some people were seen in different businesses such as the malls, their local McDonald’s, or libraries trying to connect to power and internet services.
