Click2Daily: Baytown Rocks, a communitywide art project

BAYTOWN, Texas – A communitywide art project using rocks is spreading joy and uniting the people of Baytown.

It's called Baytown Rocks and its Facebook group includes nearly 10,000 members.

"It's fun. It's uplifting. It gets you outside, which is also nice, and it's just something anyone can do," said organizer Lana Donath.

People simply decorate a rock and hide it in a public place for others to find.

"It gets us out. It gets us active. We get to explore different parks that we wouldn't have normally went to," said mother Natasha Lewis.

People who find a rock can hide it somewhere else or keep it for themselves. Either way, they're encouraged to post a picture on Facebook.

Lewis said it's fun for the whole family.

"We go and hide roughly eight to 10 rocks and go have ice cream. Just do a mommy-daughter day," said Lewis.
