During the trial, jurors heard testimony from a co-conspirator who testified to Powell's involvement in robbing a Jared's Jewelry store in The Woodlands on June 17, 2013. During the robbery, more than half a million dollars' worth of jewelry was taken.

Jurors also heard that Powell's DNA was found on a mask located near the crime scene.

Powell was the last of four defendants to be convicted and sentenced in the robbery, Montgomery County Prosecutor Laura Bond said.
