2 children ejected when trucks collide in Atascocita

ATASCOCITA, Texas – Two children were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Atascocita on Monday, according to authorities.

Two trucks were involved in the crash near the intersection of Atascocita Road and Barry Lane, investigators said.

Investigators said a truck that was westbound on Atascocita Road T-boned a truck that was making a left turn into the Atascocita Trails neighborhood. There was a 15-year-old in the passenger seat and two 9-year-old children in the back seat of the turning truck.

The two children, who were not wearing seat belts, were ejected during the crash, authorities said.

They were taken to the hospital via helicopter, according to investigators. The children are in stable condition.

The driver of the truck that was struck and the 15-year-old passenger were taken to the hospital and are also in stable condition.

The driver of the other truck was not taken to the hospital, but authorities said he was sore and shaken up.
