Both Sills and Dr. Thom Mayer, the NFL Players Association's medical director, said the key is everyone following the protocols.
Vrabel says Titans hope NFL allows them to return Wednesday
โAnd then we'll kind of see where we're at with the league and hopeful to return and get back in the building,โ Vrabel said. The NFL and its players union had people in Nashville meeting with the Titans to review how the team handled the outbreak and checking protocols. The Titansโ outbreak reached 20 cases on Sunday, the teamโs sixth straight day of at least one positive, with 18 returned since Sept. 29. โ Iโm not even thinking about that.โThe Titans' outbreak also affected the Baltimore Ravens, who now will have a bye Week 7 instead of playing Pittsburgh. Titans back to waiting after NFL postpones game vs. Steelers

They had one positive test last Saturday with outside linebackers coach Shane Bowen, which prevented him from traveling with Tennessee to Minnesota for a 31-30 win. The NFL decided to postpone the game โto ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel." For now both the Titans and Steelers went from game preparation to an unexpected bye and a chance to heal up some players.
Hospitals feel squeeze as coronavirus spikes in Midwest

Nearly 678 COVID-19 infections per 100,000 people have been diagnosed over the past two weeks, leading the country for new cases per capita, according to the COVID Tracking Project. The space isn't exclusively for coronavirus patients but could be used to treat them if needed. Last week, the state had the nationโs sixth-highest rate of coronavirus infections per 100,000 people, according to a White House coronavirus task force report dated Sunday. The number of reported coronavirus cases in Oklahoma increased by 980 on Wednesday, with 13 additional deaths, state health officials said.

No football talk as Titans safety sticks to racial injustice
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Titans safety Kenny Vaccaro made clear he won't let the fight against racial injustice recede from the conversation even as Tennessee returned to practice Friday. Not just a black square that everybody in the world posted on Instagram and thought that meant something. Asked if sitting out a regular-season game has been discussed, Vaccaro said the Titans haven't planned that far ahead. Vaccaro also has talked with safety Kevin Byard about how children look up to athletes as heroes with few Martin Luther King Jrs.
Doctor: NFL COVID-19 testing issues gave it test fire drill
ALLEN PARK, Mich. In two-plus weeks, the NFL kicks off its season. That doesn't leave much time to resolve significant issues about its COVID-19 testing procedures. Among teams reporting false positives, the Minnesota Vikings had 12, the New York Jets 10, the Chicago Bears nine and the Detroit Lions one. Five labs across the country process tests for the league's 32 teams and only the New Jersey facility had false positives on Saturday. Training camps have a different feel in this age of COVID-19
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. From the antimicrobial mist the Denver Broncos strolled through on their way to the practice fields to the hand-held whistles for masked-up coaches, NFL training camps have a very different look and feel this year. What it does is it really creates less of an opportunity for those guys to make our football team. Were going to have to find guys with the expanded practice squad, which we have spots for four veterans. Were going to have to find the right guys to be able to expand the practice squad with, Elway said. We have to appeal to their intelligence, their pride, their responsibility that, hey, this is different, Fangio said.
AFC South matchup will test Houston Texans
The Texans know Sundayโs game in Nashville against the Titans will test their true level of resilience. Some of the veterans on the team such as Bernardrick McKinney, Whitney Mercilus, and Johnathan Joseph all played for Vrabel. In their loss to the Broncos, the Texans did experience an offensive spark, but it was way too late. โYou always want to throw the first punch and throw the last punch,โ said Reid. Throw the first punch and the last punch.โNow, this team will try to throw the final punches of the season.
