Tom’s still too much for the Texans, but there were bright spots in the game
Hey guys, it’s Ari Alexander checking in from NRG Stadium where the Texans learned (again) what Tom Brady is all about. Houston showed some good things in the 23-16 loss. They also showed the defense has plenty of work to do against top level NFL offenses with Brady torching them.
Houston Texans players partner with local plumbing company to provide free repairs
HOUSTON – A trio of Houston Texans has teamed up with a local plumber to provide free repairs after last month’s winter freeze. Former Houston Texan Chester Pitts, along with Texans Whitney Mercilus and Justin Reid, has donated $30,000 to fix homes throughout Houston. Amaro is a plumber and noticed many of the people who reached out to him for repairs could not afford to pay for the job. [Chester] did tell me he would reach back out,” said Amaro, owner of Superior Plumbing Solutions LLC. The Latest: Home teams now 65-65-1 in this pandemic season
That means that going into tonight’s Saints-Buccaneers showdown, home teams are 65-65-1 so far this season. Henry, Titans rally past Texans 42-36 in OT, remain unbeaten
Henry took a direct snap and ran 5 yards for a touchdown 3:30 into overtime and the Titans remained undefeated, rallying to beat the Houston Texans 42-36 on Sunday. “Obviously, we all witnessed somebody taking a game over,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said of Henry. Watson's final TD pass put Houston (1-5) up 36-29 with 1:50 left, but his pass to Randall Cobb on the 2-point conversion attempt failed. Brown on a 7-yard TD pass with 4 seconds left. Watson answered two plays later with a 53-yard TD pass to Will Fuller for a 30-29 lead with 8:37 left.

Texans hoping to get win in their first week without Bill O’Brien
HOUSTON – The Texans are preparing for their first game since the end of the Bill O’Brien era. Houston is 0-4, but hoping for a fresh start and a win over a beatable division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars. One way to do a better job of tackling is to have live tackling drills. Other than that, no, I think the tackling shouldn’t be too big of an issue more than it is any other year.”Does the team think the Texans can turn this around? I think that’s been good for our leaders on the team to step up and do that.
Bill O’Brien, several Texans players take a knee during National Anthem
HOUSTON – Prior to the beginning of the Texans home opener against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien took a knee, along with several Texans players, during the National Anthem on Sunday. The Texans players taking a knee included Deshaun Watson, Kenny Stills, Justin Reid, Eric Murray, Keion Crossin, Randall Cobb, Deandre Carter and Vernon HargreavesIn Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Texans stayed in the locker room for the national anthem.
