Osweiler thrilled to play in playoff game Saturday

HOUSTON – The playoffs have arrived and the Texans are back in the dance and ready to ride with quarterback Brock Osweiler.

"When you are in first or second grade and you are playing football, you dream of playing in the National Football League and you dream about playing in the playoffs," Osweiler said on Wednesday at NRG Stadium.

On Saturday afternoon, Brock Osweiler's dream will come true.  He'll make his first career playoff start after reclaiming the starting job following his performance in Tennessee where he relieved Tom Savage, who suffered a concussion.

" I told myself if you have an opportunity to go back in, just go and have fun.  Get back to the joy of football and what drew you to the sport at such a young age," said Osweiler.

After being benched three weeks ago, Osweiler says he learned a lot watching from  the sidelines.

"Any time you can sit back and look at things from a different perspective, you will learn a lot of things."

"To actually sit back and watch our defense play, we have a hell of a defense and those boys are fun to watch."

One thing Osweiler isn’t lacking is confidence.  He said he’s prepared and ready to win.

"I am confident,  and very confident in my teammates. I know we will be ready to go. Coach has done a great job this week and the mental focus has been there at practice.

"We are excited to get out there in front of this home crowd and kick this thing off."

"I can't wait for Saturday to be here, I wish it was here today.  I'll be ready to go and really excited,"  added Osweiler.
