HOUSTON – The Rice University football team is appearing in its first Conference USA Championship and the Owls will get to play the game in their own roost.
Rice (9-3, 7-1) won the C-USA West division and will take on Marshall, winner of the East.

The Thundering Herd have the same overall and conference record as the Owls, so the BCS rankings were the tie-breaker for the host stadium.
Both teams went 4-0 against common opponents Texas-San Antonio, Tulsa, UAB and Florida Atlantic.
The game is 11am Saturday, Dec. 7, at Rice Stadium.
