1. They are the cutest things on planet Earth.

The best thing about puppies is probably that they're so darn cute. They're the littlest, best version of themselves right off the bat -- except for the whole training question.

2. Training is tough, but they teach us patience.

It's a trial to come home and see pee on the floor, but also a true joy when you hear scratching at the door, knowing she's finally learned something.

3. They’re always happy to see you.

That look on his face when you come in the door is priceless. Try not to smile -- we dare you.

4. They’re precocious.

How in the world did he find your one special pair of designer socks? Well he did, and they're in shreds on the floor, and somehow, you're kind of proud.

5. They make you smile.

From digging in the dirt to scarfing down puppy chow, watching your pup go about the business of life is endlessly amusing.

6. They’re playful.

"Fetch" and "walk" are their buzz words, but also the word "play." Watch their little doggy faces light up when you grab that squeak toy. Even when you're tired, your little doggie has enough energy for the pair of you.

7. They make great cuddle buddies.

Sleep, little puppy, sleep. You're the cutest when you're cuddled up around my feet or on my head or just lounging around, dreaming your doggy dreams on our expensive furniture.

8. Puppy breath

It gets worse with age, so soak it in while you can.

9. Soft, soft puppy fur

There's nothing like the soft fur on a puppy. Puppy belly rubs are a must!

10. They have a way of becoming family.

They're not just a dog. They're not just something you feed and walk every day. They're a little someone you wouldn't want to live without. Your puppy is growing into your own pack.
