HOUSTON – Texas Southern University closed on Monday after issues with a power outage, school officials tweeted.Â
The school said backup generators were in use, but decided to close with the exception of essential personnel.Â

The school posted the message on its web site and across its social media platforms.
The cause of power outage was not immediately known.Â
