Texas family enjoys time together at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

HOUSTON – Tucker Tilton, who is taking part in this year's rodeo said, "It's a lot of work but it's awesome."

For the Tilton family of Cleburne, Texas, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a family affair.

"Everybody here, their parents showed, their grandparents show, you go back. But they've been here," Tom Tilton, Tucker's father said.

The Tucker family of five includes mom and dad along with Travis, Tucker and Tanner.

Tucker and Tanner were adopted and Tanner also happens to have special needs.

"I like showing steer a lot. I wish I could show steers again, but it's my last year," said Tanner.

"He's got fan clubs when he says there will be a hundred people cheering when he walks," Tom said.

The Tanners are in town this week to show their latest steer, "Billy Bob," with the hopes of winning big.

Regardless if that happens, all the family's hard work and dedication has already paid off.

"You brush them, feed them every day. The kids go to the barn every morning and every night after school. They don't have time to get into trouble," Tom said.

But more than learning responsibility, the family says it's also about spending time with each other.

"I do it because I love it. (The) family is all together, it just makes my heart happy," said Tucker.
