Shopping security: What you need to know as you head out for Black Friday deals

HOUSTON – No doubt brick-and-mortar stores are working to lure shoppers offline and into the aisles.

People started lining up at this store hours before it opened.

But with the scramble to find deals comes a warning to think about protecting your possessions as much as you think about the deals you're finding.

Shoppers are already out in force and any police officer will tell you -- thieves are out, too.

Be sure to lock your car, bring your belongings and don't leave anything behind that they could be interested in taking, including packages.

Another hint: Don't carry cash with you, only bring your card.
