HOUSTON – If you love taking unique photographs, a new place in Montrose has created rooms with interesting backgrounds to shoot creative pics.
Flower Vault is the brainchild of Sarah Forrest, a San Antonio woman who was trying to take a unique photo against a wall with her kids.
But her husband, Robbie Forrest, said it was kind of dangerous to access the site.
Robbie said the idea was born for Flower Vault when Sarah uttered, "Why don't we create a place like that?"
And they did.
They opened Flower Vault, first in San Antonio, as a pop-up business.
The popularity of being able to visit the place and take one-of-a-kind unique photos spread, and now they have spread the opportunity into a second location in Montrose.
It opened earlier this month, and plenty of people have stopped by Robbie said.
"Younger people tend to understand it immediately," he said, "Most of the people walk in and say, 'This is so cute!'"
Flower Vault has an Instagram page that has been attracting attention from the photos taken at its property. Robbie also said people posting their photos on Instagram and tagging Flower Vault has also drawn more visitors.
Sometimes people just walk in, such as Olympic gymnasts Ashton Locklear and Simone Biles.
Robbie's favorite room is the "Where is wallflower?" room where people can camouflage into the background.
Flower Vault on Westheimer Road is open Thursday through Sunday. It will only be accessible until January.
