Man shot to death in car in NE Houston

HOUSTON – Houston police are investigating after a shooting left one person dead Saturday morning in the northeast part of town.

Houston Police Department investigators were on the scene around 2:16 a.m. in the 3300 block of Jewel Street. Police said a man was in a parked vehicle with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Witnesses told police a gunshot was heard in the area and they found the victim inside of the vehicle. 

The man, believed to be in his 40s, died before reaching the hospital, HPD officials said. His identity has not been released.

Investigators said another man was seen leaving the scene. He is described as a black man around 6 feet 4 inches tall, slender and wearing a yellow T-shirt and blue jean shorts.
