HOUSTON - A man in prison has been charged in the 2014 death of a woman whose body was found at a southeast Houston house.

Amanda Lewis, 30, was found dead in an abandoned home in the 2900 block of Rosalie Street in January 2014.

A man walking by the house saw Lewis' body in the home's utility room.

Police investigators determined that she had been shot.

Houston police investigators identified Reginald Brown as a suspect.

They interviewed him in March 2014 while he was in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges. Brown denied any involvement in Lewis' death.

Police said further investigation and DNA evidence identified Brown as the suspect in Lewis' death.

Brown, 46, was charged on Friday.

Brown is currently in prison for an unrelated crime.
