Man accused of beating dog with crow bar

HOUSTON - A Houston man has been charged with animal cruelty after police said he beat a dog with a crow bar.

The beating took place Sunday afternoon at a home in the 1200 Block of Tamborine Drive, according to police. 

Police said the homeowner returned home to find Dwain Ray Riley beating the family dog.

The homeowner said that the dog was duct-taped to a vehicle.  

Riley is charged with animal cruelty. He is currently being held in the Harris County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
