HOUSTON – Stubby’s Cinnamon Rolls has been a favorite at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 42 years.
Owner Stony Humphries has the ribbons to prove it.
“I’ve won 15 Gold Buckle Awards in the last nine years,” Humphries said.
Stubby’s does it all with its famously massive, finger-licking-good gooey cinnamon rolls.
“People never put enough butter or sugar in it,” said Humphries.
But no doubt, Stubby’s uses enough.
In a single day, they use 400 pounds of flour, 40 pounds of butter and 150 pounds of sugar.
Each long roll makes nearly 60 individual rolls, which is considered one batch.
The work has been nonstop for four decades.
“When I started 40 years ago, there was only six of us. I was one of the original six, so that’s when we were selling 4,000 rolls a day,” he said.

Stubby’s continues to make life at the Houston Rodeo a lot sweeter.
“It’s the biggest, largest stock show in the entire world,” Humphries said.
They bake four different cinnamon rolls: original, icing, pecans and the works, with pecans and icing.
The cinnamon rolls cost $4 to $6.
