Texas City man charged with murder after stabbing his 68-year-old mother multiple times

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A Texas City man is behind bars after admitting to stabbing his mother multiple times, which led to her death on Wednesday, according to the Texas City Police Department.

Johnathan Taylor, 30, has been charged with murder in the death of 68-year-old Regina McIntyre on Oct. 6.

Police responded to a Wendy’s located in the 2800 block Palmer Highway around 7:54 p.m. where they encountered Taylor.

Officers noticed multiple stab wounds on both of Taylor’s arm as he told them that he was robbed.

While officers were speaking to Taylor, he told them he attacked his mother at his residence, located in the 2900 block Tarpey Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to check the welfare of his mother. When officers arrived at the residence, they saw McIntyre lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds.

Texas City EMS arrived on scene to check her injuries.

Taylor was taken by ground and McIntyre was taken by Air Ambulance to UTMB Galveston.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., McIntyre died from her injuries.

Taylor was charged with murder and his bond was set at $500,000. After receiving medical treatment, Taylor was taken to the Galveston County Jail.
