Driver in critical condition after being shot, crashing SUV into several light poles in SW Houston

HOUSTON – A man is in critical condition after he was shot and crashed his SUV into several light poles in southwest Houston on Sunday, according to the Houston Police Department.

The incident happened at the intersection of Mullins Drive and Clarewood Drive. Officers made it to the scene and found the driver injured.

Police said the victim was a man in his 20s, who had been driving a GMC Yukon SUV along Clarewood Drive just before 12 a.m.

The driver saw a man he knew.  They then got into an argument and multiple rounds were fired. 

The driver was struck in the head. He continued driving along Clarewood Drive, hitting several light poles before crashing into another pole in a yard at the corner of Mullins Drive and Clarewood Drive.

The driver was transported to a nearby hospital, and he is in critical condition.

Police are searching for the suspected shooter.  Call police or Crime Stoppers if you have any information on the shooting.

Centerpoint also responded.  It does not appear homes lost power from the incident.

This incident is still being investigated.
