6 injured, 1 critical after shooting outside of west Houston club

HOUSTON – Six people were injured in a shooting outside of a west Houston club on Sunday morning.

A man, who was shot, is in critical condition and had surgery.

The Houston Police Department was dispatched to the scene around 2:20 a.m. in the 6000 block of Richmond Avenue at the Tabu Club.

Officers said there was a disturbance inside the venue that moved into the parking lot, and shots were fired outside into a crowd.

Four men, ages 29, 27, 30 and 32, and a 28-year-old woman were transported to the hospital in stable conditions. Another 27-year-old was transported in critical condition.

Officers mentioned there have been previous problems in this part of the city. Police reminded people to be cautious because crime increases during the summertime.
