The Comida/food drive began 37 years ago with an officer’s concern for the less fortunate citizens of Houston.

That began what is today one of the largest food drives in the City of Houston, the news release said.

Distribution of the food drive will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at HPD’s headquarters located at 1200 Travis Street in downtown Houston.

Families who are interested can visit their nearest HPD substation to register for the food drive. To locate your nearest substation, click here.
