Some Houstonians focusing on health, getting in shape for 2021

HOUSTON – So far, 2021 is off to a good start.

KPRC 2 spoke to people who are focusing on staying in shape and living a healthy lifestyle as New Year resolutions.

“It was a rough 2020 so I just want to give it all that I got,” one person said.

“Exercise more, eat healthier and enjoy 2021, so glad it’s here,” one woman told KPRC 2.

On Friday, many people spent the day walking, running and working out.

“I’m getting it off to a good start out here early in the morning,” one woman said.

“I’m going to run a whole lot more with my best friends. I turned 36 today so I challenged my friends to 3.6 miles, not 36 miles because I’m not crazy 3.6,” one runner said.

COVID-19 is still here but, people say they want to focus on their health.

“My New Year resolution is to be healthy, happy and spend lots of time with family and friends,” one person said.

Runners and joggers said they’re not sure when things will go back to normal, but they will certainly be in shape.

“Basically, just push my mind and body to reach what I couldn’t reach,” one jogger said.

“Continue to stay fit and healthy. Pushing yourself and motivating yourself to a better 2021,” another man said.
