Crosby High School student dies after being hit by vehicle

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A Crosby high school student has died after being hit by another student on his way to school, according to Crosby ISD.

LifeFlight was called Wednesday morning after the student, identified as Christopher Dubose, was riding a skateboard when he was hit by a pickup truck in northeast Harris County.

Deputies were called at 6:48 a.m. to the area of Highway 90 and Krenek Road near Crosby Middle School.

Dubose was wearing dark clothing and in a lane of traffic when he was hit, deputies said. Lighting was also poor in the area, according to authorities.

Dubose, 18, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver was a 16-year-old student who also attends the school, the district said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Crosby ISD said grief counselors will be available to students.
