HPD officers involved in 2-vehicle crash in SE Houston

Two officers suffer minor injuries

HOUSTON – Two Houston Police Department officers were involved in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in southeast Houston, police said.

The crash was reported at 6:58 p.m. near the intersection of S. Wayside and Jamail drives.

Police said a white pickup truck was driving northbound on Wayside when the driver of the pickup made an illegal left turn into a Fiesta parking lot and collided head on with the officers' SUV.

The police officers suffered minor injures, officials said. Three children and an adult were inside the pickup truck during the crash, officials said.

Police said the two veteran officers were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Police said the driver and one child were taken to a local hospital.

No arrests have been made.
