The repairs come ahead of Super Bowl LI, which will be hosted in Houston next February.

The road construction is set to begin Monday on El Rio Street.

Locke committed to spending $30 million in the next two years to repair streets within the city of Houston. The program is part of an inter-local agreement reached with Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.

Portions of four streets near NRG Park—Ardmore, El Rio, Holly Hall and Knight -- as well as well as a beautification project along McNee Street leading to NRG Park are expected to be repaired in time for the Super Bowl next February.

Locke is expected to announce details of planned street repairs in several Houston neighborhoods within Precinct 1.

Locke will make his announcement Monday at the corner of Holly Hall and El Rio streets.
